Now more than ever, our homes are a sanctuary where we seek renewal. Surrounding ourselves and our families with a peaceful, natural environment provides a balm to what can often be a hectic world. A home is also a place where we welcome friends and family to share in our lives and celebrate occasions both special and commonplace.

At Allisonville Nursery, we want to help you create a home and garden that provides a retreat for both renewal and play, a pursuit of passions, and a beautiful backdrop to welcome those special people in your life.

 

Our History
 
In 1976, Jeff Gatewood hung a handmade sign and began Allisonville Nursery with 15 spruce trees, hand-dug from a Michigan farm.  The 3-acre plot across from the family-owned airport in Fishers, Indiana was carved out of farmland that had been in the family for nearly 30 years and housed a 20' x 40' structure that once held a flower shop run by Jeff's mother.

After moving half a mile north in 1985 after too many close calls with small aircraft, Allisonville Nursery now encompasses 5 acres and has expanded into a 7,500 sqft. garden store and gift shop.

Present Day

In 2020, Sullivan Hardware purchased Allisonville Nursery to serve the Fishers area. The Sullivan family is working hard to preserve the traditions of the business and expand it into an exciting experience and fun destination for all guests. Our goal is to provide an enjoyable experience for guests by providing a fresh and fun feel in our store and facilities as they find the best products in home decor, gifts, houseplants, and plants.

 

Allisonville Nursery is also consistently adding new features to its location. With the addition of Maggie's Bistro, named after the great-granddaughter of the founder of Sullivan Hardware, Robert Sullivan, guests can now enjoy casual dining, fine espresso, local craft beers, and a superb wine selection.

Allisonville Nursery continues to broaden its ability to connect and provide memorable experiences for guests through community events. Ranging from informational evening garden workshops to a month-long Halloween family experience, events at Allisonville are designed to bring families and individuals in the community together for fun-filled experiences for all ages.
